I'm psyched to hear RS approves of the show, seriously (I agree more than disagree w/ their television show commentary). Roxette - my friends who works at Ministry of Sound will LOVE to hear that David! It's just so anthemic and hooky. My wifey and I were just dancing to it...
We don't have a TV connection so we only watch the BBC through a VPN connection so I have no idea about Girls beyond the commentary in Rolling Stone which rates it highly. Anyway, I liked the tune. Reminded me of Roxette. That's about as pop as I get though I do have one Abba CD.
OK - I know most of you missed the post about this song, but I HAD to repeat it: This was the PERFECT choice, the perfect track, for the end of the recent episode of Girls on HBO (a KILLER new show by Judd Apatow).
This, while commercial, maintains an underground vibe, and the track was so perfectly placed (the scene called for it - end of a bad day, just two roommates in their apartment, dancing like foolz).
This is what my generation is about (one of the things anway): If you have a bad day, or you're having a bad year (month, whatever) then find a good friend, pump up some dance music LOUDLY, and dance like fools TOGETHER.
This is one thing true raves are about: STOMPING YOUR TROUBLES AWAY - with your Best Friends. Now that's joy for me, a joy that I feel in the pit of my stomach
