Boulder is based in Boulder, Colorado and was originally founded in 1984 as a supplier of high-performance studio and broadcast equipment. In the years since, we've shifted our focus to the home audio and entertainment industry and are the last remaining high-end manufacturer to make everything (engineering, metal casework, circuit boards, etc.) in-house.
Our focus is on low-distortion, neutral sound reproduction - we don't voice any of our equipment and we take a certain amount of pride in passing the intentions of the recording artists to you unaltered.
We're also rather communicative - please feel free to drop us a line or ask questions!
My Audio System
Gotta love this question! OK, so in our sound room we always have a pair of 3050 Mono Amps, 2050 Mono Amps, a 2010 Preamp and a 1021 Network Disc Player. We likely have a number of our other products in there, too, depending on what's out on loan or evaluation. Cables are everything we can get or hands on. Speakers are from Focal, Wilson, Dynaudio, B&W, Westlake, etc. The room is heavily treated and damped and power is all dedicated.
We don't have a "reference" system because we don't want to listen through only one single system - we need to be able to know that our gear is neutral and works with everything, not tuned to work with just a certain selection of gear.
Everything for CES has been shipped (except a few odd 'n' ends that we'll be taking in our luggage), our exhibit partners have their stuff there already (thank you to Vienna Acoustics and Analysis Plus), the press releases have been sent, the news is prepped for our web-site.

Everything we should need for CES has finally been delivered according to our freight company. That includes a healthy supply of snacks and beverages for anyone that cares to stop by. Our exhibit partners this year will be Vienna Acoustics and Analysis Plus!
Getting everything ready and prepared for my dealer visits and open house events at all four Audio Consultants stores in the Chicagoland area next week. This is one of those occasions where I know I'm forgetting to account for something....
Now that RMAF is over and there are no other major shows left this year, we're preparing our exhibit and selecting demo gear for CES. We've also had a number of requests by others to borrow our gear, which we generally loan out on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Our own exhibit this year will be scaled down. After a number of years of large and imposing systems, we plan on using a small pair of speakers paired with our award-winning 865 Integrated Amplifier. Analog? We haven't decided on that bit yet.
We'll be there wandering around the show though not exhibiting at the hotel - our dealer (Soundings) is a two block walk away and they have open house events for show attendees Friday and Saturday. We're also going to be giving a number of factory tours during show days. This means we'll see a lot of people at the store and get a chance to interact but most of the people we run into at RMAF won'
