I'm back from the CA Audio Show. Seemed like a smaller show this year, though that might not be fair. I'm usually tied to a room and this year I wasn't. So I got to see every room at the show. I think my favorite was from Audio Image. A very good sound played mostly from vinyl.
Since I'm new here, please suggest topics related to our products. Naturally, we'd start one pertaining to our Trinity LCR. :) Next, Melody has all tubes; ranging from Preamp to Integrated Amps to Monoblocks. Thanks,
Went to hear Ruthie Foster last night, WOW! How have I been missing such an incredible voice. Didn't matter whether it was blues, rock, country, folk or gospel she could do it all. If you haven't heard her you need to. I have not heard any of her recordings yet, but I will soon.
It was a good night, started off with Miles Davis “Kind of Blue” followed by Dave Brubeck “Time Out”, Duke Ellington “Blues in Orbit” and Count Basie, “88 Basie Street”. Great tunes, to experiment with my friends Stillpoints. I found better definition and tighter imaging within a better defined space with palpable air around the instruments. The highs were oddly more extended without being bright; in fact the highs were purer and better tone with less glare. Bass was about the same as with my reference Nordost titanium points. It was an excellent night.
