Haven't checked in here for awhile, but I'm glad Tomaz is still posting cool music. I've been thinking about how the site seems to have become a bit dormant, which is a pity because it was so much fun when it was on the rise and everybody was contributing. I can't imagine why an audio site built on the premise of being friendly and informative isn't more popular or able to retain a loyal following. Could it be that audio blogs and boards only thrive when posters rank on each other and compete to squirrel out the most insidious "insider" gossip? I hope not.
I had the privilage of having my dad (David Wilson) come over to help calibrate my sub. Was very educational (not to mention a lot of fun!). I was having so much fun going through his CD case listening to some of his demo CD's that he left them here with me to listen to until Thursday. Needless to say, I am enjoying beautiful music as I type this!
The Cary's are back! And they do sound quite good. They have new (Electro-Harmonix) KT88's in them and a couple replaced pin-sleeves. But my main speakers are now out. I took out the woofers this weekend and sent them off to a guy who claims to be able to replace the surrounds without having to cut away the center of the driver....we'll see. In the meantime, I have pair of ProAc Tablette 50's that will have to fill in. Life is hard , I know. And yes, I try to keep back-ups to my back-ups for all my components.

Why not come to a show on the East Coast that's growing?
The 2012 Capital Audiofest is set for July 13-15 in the Washington DC area, and will again be at Crown Plaza Hotel but with more of everything so will be bigger and better. More quality playback equipment, listening rooms, display table space, retailers, audio and video manufacturers and live music. Last year we had approximately 1000 attendees exploring 30 rooms which isnt bad for a two year old show! This year we plan to have 50-60 rooms along with more of everything. . If you have not read the rave reviews by Stereophile's own John Atkinson, then please go to the CAF website www.capitalaudiofest.com and link to Stereophile and other great commentary found on the internet.
