General discussion about digital audio sources.

You are here because of your interest in high-end audio and music. We welcome you to participate in our online community.

Here are some rules to insure that our groups remain interesting, educational, and fun:

  1. Stick to the topic of the group. This way information is easily categorized to make it easy for new members to access. Threads or posts that do not contain relevant information will be removed.
  2. Trolling - members who make a conscious effort to inflame or irritate others will be subject to warnings and/or bans.
  3. The discussion of politics and religion is irrelevant to good audio and is, therefore, not allowed in this group.
  4. Pornography and violent images are not allowed on this forum.
  5. No baiting or fighting. Personal attacks, trouble making, inappropriate language, or any threatening or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.
  6. No spam. Any member soliciting spam will be warned and/or banned.
  7. Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it.
  8. Be respectful of new members. Welcome the new groupies. You don’t want to be the last audiophile, do you?

Obviously, AudioEvo.org's Terms & Conditions apply as well.

I got a SanDisk 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 card to store more LAME 3.9.9 --preset-insane 320 Kbps MP3 albums. I'm going to get a Google Nexus 7 16 GB Wi-Fi tablet for my birthday this April.

Thanks Dan, ikea will definitely be visited sometime this week, I like their shelving systems and cheap accent lighting.

Congrats, the DAC8 is a great choice. I thought they were more than 5k!

That's what I like about AudioEvo, recognize that we all have views and theories about audio, but there's always a perspective that this is just a part of our lives and musical interests. Sure beats a four hundred post bloodletting like you see on other sites. Hope all of this helps your decision, Blake. In the meantime, my opinion is that, if you have the room, keep the CDs, if only for a handy backup and/or potential gift to someone who'd be pumped up to get a first-rate music collection.

I just ordered a minidsp board and 2 way XO/PEQ plug in to experiment with. I already have the measurement mic and REW. I'll have to check out HOLM. I haven't used that program before.

I came across this site the other day. Don't remember how but there is plenty to explore in it's' "Concerts on Demand" link. You can also see if your favourite artiste is there so for example I just put Tom Cochrane into the search function at the top and it found a Concert that is pretty good. The sound quality is very good too, IMHO. I'll go out a limb and highly recommend the site. http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/cod/
