Just listened to INXS's latest single "Tiny Summer." http://inxs.com/Tiny_Summer.html Totally not what I expected. They just announced their new frontman (the third one!) so we will have to wait to see what's in their future. I was hoping for something a little more rockin' like Van Halen, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, etc.

Some bands go through an evolution... often hit or miss as they go along.
Think of early Doobie Brothers and eventually how they wound up with Michael McDonald. I mean they made some great songs all along but became a very different band.
I'm thinking INX is going to have to find their voice... you don't want to bring in a new frontman and think it's going to be the same sound/attitude/band. Need to find new material that will speak to new fans and hopefully win over old fans expecting more of what they are used to hearing from them.

I guess most bands try different sounds and they continue to play together, even with the same frontman. And even the hardest of rockers will have a nice slow ballad on an album. I just hope they get back some momentum.
