Supermodel Stereo: Best Looking Audio Gear

If you could nominate the coolest looking audio gear, either a separate piece or a whole system, what would you choose? This is a beauty contest, so it's ok if the sound sucks! Vintage stars are welcome, too, so I'll start with a Bang and Olufsen Beogram 4002: http://www.soundfountain.com/amb/ttrabco.html

I'd have to say Viva Audio. Their design, build quality and the music they make really appeal to me: http://www.blackbirdaudio.com/Blackbird_Audio_Gallery/Viva_Audio/Pages/Viva_Audio_components.html#3

Haven't seen one in the flesh but the Nagra tube pre-amp and all of their power amps just look so good I'd like to have one as an art object.

Love the Burmester, the milled JRDG, most of the Triode Company of Japan's gear, Air Tight, Ultrasone ED10 and ED8, Stealth Cloud cables, and many others.

My second favorite stuff is almost anything Apple, especially the iPhone 4, and the new iPad.

My favorite is anything Josh at Sonicweld makes. His industrial design sense and mine gel, and his work is impeccable.

Peace,

Lee

I'm still in love with the Cello Gear. The Suite and the Palette are stand outs of form meets function. I also love the Linn CD12. Very slick and sexy gear.

@Nick: I couldn't agree with you more on the CD12. That "bump" feature on the drawer was pretty cool, how they made it a way to control the deck at the front panel without buttons all over. Gotta give 'em kudos on that one.

@David: That Nagra gear looks to have stepped right out of a 50's Flash Gordon tv show. wicked-cool

Well I love the looks of my Teresonic Ingenimus. A non-audiophile friend of mine says they look like a beautiful woman walking across the room.

I'm not sure how long the curb appeal would last but I liked the old Tandberg separates- nice Euro look. These components also had a nice sound back in the early 80's. Saul Marantz designed products from the 60's were also very cool looking. :)

While it may not appeal to everyone, I really like the Mcintosh gear. The big blue meters are pretty hard to resist....

I'm partial to the look of the Thoress amps from Germany. Kinda funky looking in pre-war industrial way. Lots of cool stuff out there. How bout Odeon loudspeakers in a custom painted finish and Viva amps. Then there's the Shindo Latour's. :)

Ooh, I loved the looks of the Pioneer M90 and C90 Reference components from the way back. I had both of them, bought them from a guy for $100. Total. Both worked fine. I kept them for a while. I thought that the M90 sounded ok, but a little thin.

I've always been a fan of the big vintage JBL studio monitors. Those rich walnut cabinets and signature blue baffles and white cones really set them apart from everyone else … even to this day.
And I also agree with Randy below, Josh Stippich's amps (Electron Luv) are very, very cool.

Too bad I don't know how to display photos and captions on this page of all the great gear nominated by everybody. If you do, post your gear, or tell me how and I'll be happy to do it.

@Greg: Tandberg!!! Wow, my moms had a stack of Tandberg gear that her dad left her when he passed (he left me his Mac gear). That stuff was VERY cool looking, Euro slick, I remember the stuff was wider than other audio components.

hmmm, I also love the look of vintage McIntosh (like my grandfathers MAC1700 with all the lights on, which I use in the bedroom).

I also loved this Bow Technologies CD player that Harry had once, but I can't remember the model number.
The Goldmund Reference stuff from the early 90's.
